About

Expert at the intersection of energy, power, and financial markets

I'm currently a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager focused on Energy & Infrastructure Investing at a $250B+ AUM investment manager. My job is to understand the buildout of energy and power infrastructure and how to assess impacts, risks, and opportunities to individual companies, identifying new investable sectors and companies as the world races to power AI, reindustrialize, and modernize the grid.

I began working in the investment field in 2015. Prior to my current seat in 2021, I was a Vice President and Credit Analyst at First Eagle Alternative Credit, a $20B+ alternative asset manager. Previous experiences include Strategic Finance at Expanse (acquired by PANW for ~$1B) and Tech/Healthcare M&A banking at Evercore (~$40B of transaction experience).

I was recognized as a 2024 Notable Leader in Sustainability by Crain's Chicago Business, and was elected to a five-year term membership in the Council on Foreign Relations through its Stephen M. Kellen Term Member Program, which convenes the next generation of leaders in foreign policy. I'm a member of the Investment Committee at Evergreen Climate Innovations, a recurring guest on Wood Mackenzie's 'The Energy Gang' and other energy and power podcasts (100K+ episode downloads). I have a Bachelor of Science dual-degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

“Spend each day trying to be a little wiser than you were when you woke up. Day by day, and at the end of the day — if you live long enough — you will get out of life what you deserve.”

Mission

Helping people get smart on the world around them

My goal is to help people get smart on the world around them while saving them the most precious, finite resources we each have control over day-to-day: time and attention. I saw a market dislocation in that it's incredibly hard to consume high-quality, unbiased, insightful news in today's world that encourages ad-based, high volume, “clickbait-y” articles that often leave readers no better off than before having read it.

This website is meant to highlight the most high-quality content seen around the web and shared among a community of people that are intellectually curious about the world around them. In an era where there are simply too many information streams, my goal was to create one uniquely curated stream that will open your horizons, challenge your assumptions, and force you to think more deeply.
